Bereavement Clearance

Clearing a relative's home after a bereavement involves more than removing items. We handle these clearances with care, and you don't need to have everything worked out before getting in touch.

What's included

A bereavement clearance covers whatever is needed to prepare a relative's home for its next stage — whether that's the whole property or just certain rooms. We remove furniture, personal belongings, and household items, working at whatever pace suits the family. If there are items that need to be kept, shared out, or looked at before the clearance goes ahead, we plan the work around that, rather than expecting everything to be decided in one go. We're also happy to pause or split a clearance across more than one visit if that makes things easier for you.

Who this is for

This service is for anyone clearing a family member's home following a bereavement — whether you're doing this alone, alongside siblings or other relatives, or as the person who's ended up coordinating things for the wider family. Some people come to us with everything organised and just need the physical clearance done; others are still working out what they want to keep and just need to talk it through. Both are completely normal, and we're happy to help either way.

How it works

You can get in touch by phone, message, or the quote form, and tell us as much or as little as you're ready to about the property and the situation. There's no need to have a full plan before contacting us — we can talk through options, timing, and what's involved, and take things from there at whatever pace works for you. Once you're ready, we agree a date and carry out the clearance as discussed. If your plans change, or you need more time before deciding, that's completely fine — just let us know.

Things to know

It often helps to set aside anything you know you want to keep before the clearance day, even if it's just into a separate room or a few boxes, so there's no risk of it being included by mistake. Some families prefer to be at the property on the day; others prefer not to be, and are happy for us to carry out the clearance and confirm once it's done — either way works. [Details on how items are handled afterwards — reuse, donation, recycling, and disposal — will be added here once confirmed.] If you're not sure what you need yet, just get in touch and we can talk it through without any pressure to decide straight away.

Common questions

Do I need to know exactly what I want before contacting you?

No — tell us as much or as little as you’re ready to, and we’ll help you work out the rest.

Can the clearance be split across more than one visit?

Yes, if that makes things easier for you and your family.

Do I need to be at the property?

[To be confirmed — arrangements for when family members can’t attend will be detailed here.]

Can other family members be involved in the decisions?

Of course — we’re happy to talk things through with however many people are involved.
